Project description:
The overall objective of the assignment was to establish a basis for reconstruction of the methods of the biological monitoring as a part of the surface water quality monitoring system in B&H that meets the requirements outlined in the EU Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC; WFD). The system had to be reflected in a “Manual for biological monitoring of rivers and lakes/reservoirs in Bosnia and Hercegovina” (Bio-monitoring manual).

Establishment of a surface water quality monitoring system in Bosnia and Herzegovina that meets the requirements outlined in the EU Water Framework Directive. Chemical, hydromorphological and hydrobiological surveys were conducted within the project setting up for the first time the “pollution” baseline in Bosnia and Hercegovina.
