EMPOMAP is destined to become the essential database for identifying experts and stakeholders, institutes and projects dealing with specific emerging substances in the different environmental compartments.

It is also designed to:

• Define the current state and future needs of research on emerging substances in Europe;
• Help to co-ordinate national EU and research programmes in order to increase efficiency in research;
