Environmental Institute (EI) is an environmental management, analytical systems/methods development and consulting company. It has been established in 1992, having its headquarters in Kos, Slovak Republic.
EI consulting experts are being frequently invited to participate in projects funded by national governments and/or institutions of the European Union, UNDP/GEF, World Bank, NATO and industries. Their specialisations cover a wide range of expertise in environmental monitoring and assessment, analytical chemistry, hydrobiology, data management and design of environmental technologies.
Current research activities deal primarily with the EU Water Framework Directive (WFD) priority pollutants, endocrine disrupting compounds, screening/identification of unknown organic pollutants and emerging substances in environmental samples. EI has its own well-equipped laboratory accredited according to ISO 17025 norm for a wide range of parameters.
In 2003 was EI assigned as one of the European Centres of Excellence in the drinking water sector and in 2006 became a member of consortium providing technical assistance to the European Commission at the implementation of WFD.
EI leverages its "on-the-ground" experience and familiarity with local environmental sectors and local conditions to provide project management in countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
